Bad Day at the Office for 1st XV

Prenton vs. Holmes Chapel has been one of the most competitive clashes of the season in recent years, however this was not to be the case last Saturday. In a poor week for availability. Chapel managed to lose even more players on the day of the game to leave themselves with only 13 men and several players out of position in the back-line. Against any side this would have led to a hard afternoon but against one of the better teams in South Lancashire Cheshire 3 a hammering was almost inevitable.

Despite the score-line the team never gave up trying and even managed a couple of tries through Tom Chambers and Mike Cottam. Mike Lightfoot added a conversion for the visitors but overall this was a day to forget.

Chapel's next fixture is at Station Road and newly relegated Trentham will be the visitors in another tough match. Kick-off is at 3pm on Saturday 15 September and all spectators are welcome.
