The club welcomed Whitchurch as the visitors on this sunny Saturday. Great conditions paved the way for awesome prospect of a match. Unfortunately for Whitchurch they have had a bit of a fall in numbers recently, so 11 of them made the trip and Chapel lent two players, making it 14 versus 13 at kick off, but still a great day and a chance for open play running rugby. This was a chance also for Chapel to build on their recent form, with Captain Dom Moss naming an unchanged side wherever he could from those who delivered in Didsbury. The game kicked off and it was clear there was going to be space and a chance for Chapel to further cement their evolving structure. Despite some scrappy play due to some overzealous play the boys in blue managed to crash over for the first try within 6 minutes from Jim Moss and he would later go on to complete his hat trick of tries. His new bird of prey proving a lucky mascot! Try scorers also also included: Tom Chambers, Brad Thompson (his first for the club!) Rob Moore and Luke Cheetham. Joe Baskerville standing in as the kicker also showed excellent form - kicking 7 from 7. The game ended 49-0 to Holmes Chapel. Whitchurch were defiant throughout; showing resilience and some tough tackling. The game was played in the true spirit and we look forward to seeing Whitchurch at their place.
